Performs job functions consistent with the Institution’s mission and vision statements and witnesses the BHSMC core values in the discharge of his functions.
Acts as a primary Nurse to allocated patient (s) under the supervision and support of a Head Nurse or above, plans, implements and evaluates patient programs of care, focusing particularly on risk assessment and risk management.
Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
Records patients' medical information and vital signs.
Ensures the maintenance of high standards in all ward procedures and treatments including the storage, custody and safe administration of medicines.
Reports to a senior staff nurse or above, any circumstances which may compromise the effective delivery of care, safety or day to day management of an area.
Maintains accurate, detailed reports and patient records. Assists in ensuring that all clinical documentation/procedures comply with all applicable legislative and statutory requirements.
Attends and takes part in ward rounds and other multi- disciplinary meetings.
Assists in the procedures for admission and discharge of patients.
Assists in ensuring that the requirements of the care program approach are met.
Participates in the Orientation of new employees.
Performs such other duties and responsibilities analogous, germane or related to and/or implied from the above enumeration of duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with valid PRC License
One (1) year patient care experience required; Geriatric Nursing experience is desirable
Complete training of triage, intravenous insertion
Six (6) hours of relevant training in the last two years
